Activities to do while in San Juan.

Boutique Shopping

Calling all shoppers! San Juan shopping offers a wide-range of choices close to your beach hotel. Whether you prefer the open-air marketplaces and charming storefronts of Old San Juan or would rather explore the largest shopping mall in the Caribbean, San Juan shopping satisfies all.

Every visitor to Puerto Rico should experience Old San Juan. Encompassing a walking-friendly square mile, Old San Juan is a mix of restored buildings, narrow streets, plazas, former forts, and an oceanfront walkway. There's plenty to entice: handmade cigars, locally made jewelry and pottery, our famous Puerto Rican coffee, and, of course, there's the rum.

Traditional Mall

If you prefer a mall setting, venture to Plaza las Americas, with over 300 stores, 13 movie theaters, and 40 restaurants. This is a shoppers' paradise! Whatever you need, this mall has it, but it is also a fun place to just people watch and window shop. For a more upscale shopping environment, travel to Condado and walk down Ashford Avenue. An electric streetcar links Condado and Old San Juan?a fun and quick way to travel between these two shopping meccas!

Outlet Mall

With over 400,000 square feet of retail space, the Outlet Mall 66 (formerly called Belz Outlet Mall) has the typical collection of name brands for less: Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Guess, and Reebok are among the stores you'll find here. It’s just a half hour southeast of Numero Uno Beach House.

Distillery Tours

Casa Bacardi is one of the top attractions near San Juan. Choose from one of many fun and interesting tours. Getting there is easy from Old San Juan – just a short ferry and taxi ride.

Food Tours

Explore the culinary culture and street art of Calle Loiza by joining a food tour. Participate in the Calle Loiza Food Tour and enjoy nine food tastings at different locations and three alcoholic beverages while walking at a relaxed pace. The Calle Loiza tour typically takes two hours.

Prefer to take an evening stroll? Try the Old San Juan Sunset Walk & Taste Food Tour. Make five stops focused on family-run establishments and local ingredients, and enjoy a tasting at each one. Your guide will show you hidden gems that you might not ordinarily find on your own and orient you to the culinary culture and history of San Juan. The evening tour takes about three hours.
